WISEWORLD

To new beginnings.

I’m finally getting settled in Wise World. Starting to feel like home - again. (First gym did not go as planned, but it definitely served its purpose).

Seeing this new sign light up the parking lot as I pull in every morning gives me a sense of joy, pride and favoritism from the Universe.

All my patience, persistence and perspirations got me to my Promise Land.

September 11th , 2010 is when I clocked in my first day as a front desk receptionist at 24 Hour Fitness on Cooper - the old Magic Johnson.

Even though I graduated with a Business Degree in Management at Abilene Christian University, I took an entry level job (7.25an hour) because I took the advice of one of my professors that told us as a class - “times have changed, in order to get to the top you may have to start at the bottom - take it if that is all they have to offer.”

5 long months of being unemployed after graduating all I could afford was a gym membership (actually my pops paid for it), it took about 3 failed job interviews to realize I’ve been applying to the wrong jobs. One of my professors in college gave us a success formula to abide by in searching for jobs and I forgot all about it.

Success always starts with a passion - and my top 3 were:

  1. Sports

  2. Recreation

  3. Kids

The Universe was working in my favor and I didn’t even know it. Thank you Enterprise, Fed Ex and UPS for not hiring me.

Once I got the call to come in for my interview from 24 I actually I moved about 3 hours away to the country - needed fresh air and to be closer to my unborn son. But it took me 3 minutes to decide to move back to the city - that country air did not come with career opportunities.

During my last interview I remember the club owner asked what did I want out of 24 - and I said I want your job. I’m not here to get a check. I want to make a career out of this (He was spooked).

And I proved that during every shift. Did my job and others.

What made the front desk position a gem for me I had time to study for my personal certifications and read self help books it was like a paid MBA.

Having the vision. Working the plan. Enjoying the process. Made all this come into reality.

I stayed in my lane through out. I was not trying to be anything I wasn’t. When I became a trainer you can say I never let up. First week of being a trainer I had 2 certs under me. Was doubling and tripling my income yearly. Became the Nike guy. Took a trip to Colorado for the Winter Olympics to interview key members on the staff. Had a blast being the Assistant Manager/Fitness Manager - developed and inspired a lot of talent in the DFW and other states. Keeping track of my successes, I was ready to explore entrepreneurship because I really saw the impact I was having. 30% of my group x class were training in solo sessions or in group training. 10% of the membership base that came to class became trainers for me or somewhere else in the city. I had a crazy system going. But things change, you must evolve, but one thing that will never will change is the impact on the thousands of lives that crossed my path from 2010-2014. And what’s crazy I had 0 clue that this was just the beginning.

July 2014 was when I departed 24 Hour Fitness after becoming one of the highest paid Fitness Managers in Texas. Knowing the value I brought to the gym I became THE trainer and then THE fitness manager in our district - I could only imagine what I could do if I wasn’t in a box. My HR manager of the district called me THE Mayor (I trained him too). So my goal wasn’t just to be in a gym, it is to be the biggest catalyst in my city. My district manager told me there some things you can’t coach and I had “IT” and I had to jump to figure that “it” out.

So I jumped. I took the highs from 24 from how jam packed my Nike Training Club classes were, to how I was hand picked to be the face of 24 for the Winter Olympics (s/o to Micki) and piloting small group programs for the whole region could roll out was pretty special as well as getting the acknowledgements from the higher ups to really expand my territory.

There was plenty of tears and doubt along the way - it was not all sunshine and rainbows.

Ruined friendships. Bad business deals. But they all served a purpose. Its just practice.

It will be 10 years exactly in July from my departure from a corporation. I collected a lot of lessons these last 10 years to share with the members and clients of this gym. 24 taught me how to sell myself. Life after 24 taught me how to survive and adapt to my surroundings. Now its time to thrive.

From corporate gyms, to Hardcore gyms like Metroflex, to sand pits at Ace Volleyball, to parks and high school tracks from Workman Jr. High and Martin High - I’ve done it all - at a high level. Now I have the opportunity to do what I’ve been doing but all under my own establishment.

Ready to hire and develop new talent to aid in changing the course of their life and others.

Ready to enroll and develop members into becoming physically and mentally free.

Ready to impact our community to become physically and economically successful.

People always wonder what’s more important - the destination or the journey? I say it is the company you take with you.

And that is why Wise World is here and is not going anywhere - I have a 2-3 year goal in buying the lot for expansion. And it will only become possible if YOU - the one reading this - trust me enough to make a choice in becoming one of our valued members. Not just a body, but a somebody who has dreams, goals and ambitions. Those who know they are meant for more and will do all they can do to get what they desire. The body and the life.

Fitness was never about being the biggest or strongest it was about breeding confidence, self belief and awareness. To vibe with a higher consciousness. To know more, do more and be more than you ever thought possible. And to do it courageously and authentically.

Our mission statement is simple: “it’s Bigger than fitness” simply emphasizing that life is hard, working out is easy (well it should be). Our body is the vehicle to excellence, it does not magically make you excellent just because you are in shape - there has to be substance in the soul. The goal is to cut the fat off the head, that makes us lazy, inadequate and mentally disabled that restricts us from growing into the best version of ourselves. And in order to get your mind in shape, we have to do more than run on the treadmill or pump out some curls. You must put yourself in an environment to be watered, a place to shine and the space to grow. And I feel the best way to grow is to be surrounded by like minded individuals who are winning in the gym and out of the gym.

The goal is to achieve personal excellence - when we better ourselves people around us must make a choice either to rise up to the occasion or fade away.

I am here to make humanity physically and economically one hundred percent successful - that is a Wise World.
